			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>How many times have you dispatched business cards to print and picked up yet another version of your corporate colour? Ever been fired up to see your advert in the latest newspaper and then noticed that the crucial tag line is gone or your logo has been wrecked.</p>
<p>There is only one way to thwart this from happening and that is to use a style guide. Not only will a style guide help you control the reproduction of your logo - it will also help you fortify your brand recognition – which many argue is one of the strongest selling tools.</p>
<p>We have placed the below steps together for you as a starting point.</p>
<p><strong>Step 1</strong> : Outline the audience for your Style Guide. Is this for staff to use in-house or is this for suppliers and contractors to refer to?</p>
<p><strong>Step 2</strong> : Outline what your output uses are. This is important because you will want different logos and file formats for example, black and white publication adverts in comparison to vehicle graphics.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The most common question that is asked when purchasing a new projector for the home, office, or classroom is: do I get an LCD projector or a DLP projector? LCD, an acronym for ‘liquid crystal device’ and DLP, an acronym for ‘digital light processing’ are the two top projector imaging technologies. With so many different brands and different types available, it can be overwhelming for clients to decide between these technologies. The fact is that LCD projectors have better image quality and colour accuracy. The following article will explain why DLP projectors struggle with creating a comparable rate of image quality.</p>
<p>Imagine a set of blinds in your room on your bedroom window. By pulling on a rod you can have the shutters open or closed, depending on if you want to let light in or not. That is exactly how an LCD projector functions. Each pixel operates like an individual shutter on a set of blinds to either pass light through or to block it. DLP on the other hand is formed of millions of microscopic mirrors or ‘pixel elements’ as the professionals like to call them. Each pixel element operates to either reflect light or block it.</p>
<p>How the light source is processed from the point at which the projector is switched on to when the content reaches your screen is extremely important to image quality, brightness and colour accuracy. LCD projectors direct white light from the lamp by cutting it into red, blue and green components, by three mirrors which direct the coloured light to 3 stand alone LCD panels. The 3 LCD panels create the elements of the image by turning each pixel on and off. The pixels are then simultaneously processed in a glass prism to form the projector image. Something to remember about LCD projectors is that all three colours are sent onto your screen simultaneously. The way a DLP projector works is widely different and even the produced image comes out is not the same. With DLP, white light from the lamp is directed through a spinning colour wheel with transparent red, blue and green segments, at speeds up to 11,000 rpm/s. This method of making an image requires a sequence of red, blue and green light. The millions of micro mirrors described above reflect the coloured light on the pixels to form the image elements. The elements of the image are displayed in sequence on the screen, one colour at a time. The viewer&#8217;s vision will then put together each coloured element of the image into a total image. With LCD projectors, all colours are available all the time to create the highest brightness and spectacular colour accuracy. In DLP, just one colour is available at once, and so causing lower colour brightness and accuracy. Some manufacturers have placed a white segment for the colour wheel to improve brightness overall, but this then lessens colour accuracy.</p>
<p>I find in forums all the time that DLP gives a higher contrast ratio and ergo must be better. For those unaware, the contrast ratio is a measure of a display system defined as the ratio of the luminance of the brightest white to that of the darkest black that the machine is capable of producing. DLP projectors do offer high contrast specifications when compared to the majority of LCD projectors. At a glance, this can seem to be an advantage, however, in reality, the true black level is determined by the ambient light in the room while the projector is being utilised. Do not be fooled by contrast specifications on websites and in brochures.</p>
<p>When the content you are trying to view includes moving images, DLP projection technology also creates image marks, or ‘artifacts’. The most common artifact that a DLP projector displays with moving images is colour break up. Colour break up is incontrovertible in DLP systems because moving images change between the time red, blue and green colours are shone. LCD projectors do not have this characteristic because all the colours are processed simultaneously. DLP builders have formed 3DLP solutions using 3 chips to answer the colour break up artifacts, but the price of these projectors make them hardly practical for the majority of businesses and consumers.</p>
<p>Another difference between LCD and DLP is how they make up for the refractive qualities of light. Think back to high school science, and recall when they taught you how the various colours of light refract varied amounts when passing through the same lens. The disadvantage with DLP projectors is that they take the one same panel for the same lens to project Red, Blue and Green. All 3 colours are different and refract light in different ways. Usually with a DLP projector, a superfluous yellow colour will be projected above and an extra blue will come through below an image containing something as simple as a lone black line. While being built LCD projectors can be set to minimize these effects on the projected image, as each colour is projected on its own LCD panels.</p>
<p>The only actual plus (excluding price) with deciding on a DLP projector is its smaller size and weight. However, this is only relevant to transporting the device and must be traded off against the image superiority of LCD projectors. If the outcome of the picture quality is vital to you, then the answer is simple. Go for an LCD projector! LCD projectors will always produce bright, colourful images with fewer image mistakes. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>As the Dutch came to dominance in sea power during the 17th century, the early yacht had been a pleasure craft used mostly by royalty and then by the burghers in the canals and the protected and unprotected waters of the Low Countries. Racing was incidental, coming out of private matches. English yachting originated with King Charles II of England during his exile in the Low Countries. On his return to the English throne in 1660, the city of Amsterdam gave him a 20-metre (66-foot) pleasure boat with a beam (maximum width) of 5.6 m (18 feet), which he named Mary. Charles and his brother James, the duke of York (James II, sovereign 1685–88), built additional yachts and in 1662 raced two of them from the Thames, from Greenwich, to Gravesend, and returning, on a Â£100 bet. Yachting rose as fashionable among the affluent and royalty, but after that period the fashion did not last.</p>
<p>The first yacht association in the British Isles, the Water Club, was instigated in about 1720 at Cork, Ire., as a cruising and unofficial coast guard organization, and had much naval panoply and rigour. The closest thing to racing boats was the “chase,” for which the “fleet” pursued an imagined enemy. The club went on, for the large part as a social club, until 1765, and in 1828, after joining with other clubs, it was known as the Cork Yacht Club (later the Royal Cork Yacht Club).</p>
<p>Yacht racing was first seen in some organized manner on the Thames in the mid-18th century. The duke of Cumberland instigated the Cumberland Fleet for Thames racing in 1775. When George IV ascended to monarchy in 1820, it was named the Fleet to His Majesty&#8217;s Coronation Sailing Society. The Thames Yacht Club seceded after a racing argument, to become the Royal Thames Yacht Club in 1830. The first English yacht club had been formed at Cowes on the Isle of Wight in 1815, and royal patronage made the Solent - the strait between the mainland and the Isle of Wight - the continued site of British yacht racing. The organisation at Cowes became the Royal Yachting Club, also at the ascension of George IV. Every member was required to have boats of at least 20 tons (20,321 kg). Sailing matches for large bids were held, and the social life was superlative. It came to be that the Royal Yachting Club boats grew in size to more than 350 tons.</p>
<p>In North America, yachting started with the Dutch in New York in the 17th century and went on when the English held power. Sailing was mostly for pleasure and rose to its high point in George Crowinshield&#8217;s Cleopatra&#8217;s Barge (1815), which sailed on the Mediterranean Sea and established a benchmark of luxury and sophistication for the later yachts in the area from the late 19th century. The first continuing American yacht society, the Detroit Boat Club, was instigated in 1839. In 1844, John C. Stevens founded the New York Yacht Club while on board his schooner Gimcrack.</p>
<p><strong>Kinds of sailboats<br /></strong>Early sailing yachts took the lines of such naval craft as brigantines, schooners, and cutters from the 17th century until the later half of the 19th century. The design of sizeable yachts was first heavily put upon by the win of America, which was created by George Steers for a association headed by John C. Stevens, and it was the boat for which the America&#8217;s Cup (q.v.) was named after its win at Cowes in 1851. Early yachts were not designed and built in a contemporary sense, with merely a model for an outline. Not until the later half of the 19th century did what was known as naval architecture come into action. Not until the 1920s did the employment of the research of aerodynamics do for the design of sails and rigging what such study had already done for hulls.</p>
<p>Because nearly all sailboats had to be individually manufactured, there was a desire for handicapping boats previous to the one-design class boats were designed. Therefore, a rating rule was written, which resulted in the International Rule, adopted in 1906 and edited in 1919. In the present day, one of the most rapidly blossoming areas in sailing is that of one-design class boats. All boats in a one-design class are manufactured to standard specifications in length, beam, sail area, and other areas (for an example of a two-person sailboat, see illustration). Racing for such boats can be had on an even playing field with no handicapping at all. A prime example is the generic International America&#8217;s Cup Class taken on board for participants in the 1992 America&#8217;s Cup race.</p>
<p>For the time that yachting belonged mostly for the aristocracy and the rich, cost was no problem, and the size of boats grew, in both length and weight. The rise and preference of smaller boats happened in the latter half of the 19th century out of the sailing of the Englishmen R.T. McMullen, a stockbroker, and E.F. Knight, a barrister and journalist. A voyage around the world (1895–98) sailed single-handedly by the naturalized American captain Joshua Slocum in the 11.3-metre Spray made plain the value of small craft. Following this in the 20th century, notably after World War II, smaller racing and pleasure craft became commonplace, down to the dinghy, a preferred training boat, of 3.7 m. In the late 20th century, yachts of less than 3 m were sailed single-handedly across the Atlantic Ocean.</p>
<p><strong>Kinds of power yachts<br /></strong>Following the decade 1840–50, during which steam began to emulate sail power in commercial craft, the steam engine, and later the internal-combustion engine, were employed increasingly in leisure yachts. Sizeable power yachts were progressed to a high standard, and long-distance sailing turned into a fond occupation of the rich. The earliest power yachts were paddle-wheel boats; they then made way to those powered by the completely submerged screw or propeller type of propulsion. As in the case of naval and merchant vessels, auxiliaries with both sail and power were the yacht archetype for several years. By the second half of the 20th century, a lot of yachts were still auxiliaries, but the majority were only power yachts with gasoline or diesel engines.</p>
<p>During the last decade of the 19th century there was a push in the construction of more sizeable steam yachts. Conspicuous within these was the Mayflower (1897) of 2,690 tons, with triple-expansion engines, twin screws, and a compartmented iron hull, and was manned by a crew of more than 150. The Mayflower, bought by the United States Navy in 1898, was the official yacht of the president of the United States until 1929 and saw active service for World War II.</p>
<p>As more sizeable and more reliable internal-combustion engines were produced, many big craft began using them for power. The creation of the diesel engine, employing heavy oil for fuel, was furthered in World War I. During the decade after, large power-yacht manufacture blossomed, hitting a climax in the Orion (1930) at 3,097 tons. In that point the largest auxiliary yacht built was the four-masted, steel, barque-rigged Sea Cloud (1931) of 2,323 tons.</p>
<p>The manufacture of large power boats lessened from 1932, and the fashion from then was for smaller, less expensive boats. From World War II, a lot of small naval craft were bought by private owners for conversion to yachts. In the late 20th century, yachting has become a globally loved activity enjoyed by thousands of yachtsmen personally manning and upkeeping their own small leisure boats. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Taxes are categorized by the effect they have on the distribution of income and wealth. A proportional tax is the kind of tax that applies the same relative burden on each taxpayer—i.e., where tax liability and income move in relative proportion. A progressive tax is recognisable by a more than proportional rise in the tax liability in relation to the rise in income, and a regressive tax is recognised by a less than proportional growth in the related onus. Ergo, progressive taxes are viewed as taking away a lack of equality in income distribution, whereas regressive taxes can have the result of an increase in these inequalities.</p>
<p>The taxes that are usually considered progressive include individual income taxes and estate taxes. Income taxes that are nominally progressive, however, might become less so in the upper-income demographic—particularly if a taxpayer is able to lessen his tax base by claiming deductions or by removing some certain income aspects from his taxable income. Proportional tax rates if applied to lower-income classes would also be more progressive if personal exemptions are declared.</p>
<p>Income measured over the period of a year might not necessarily provide the best measure of taxpaying ability. For example, transitory increases in income could be saved, and within temporary declines in income a taxpayer could decide to provide for consumption by reducing savings. So, if taxation is made comparable along with “permanent income,” it can be less regressive (or more progressive) than if held in comparison with annual income.</p>
<p>Sales taxes and excises (excepting luxuries) are usually regressive, because the spread of personal income consumed or spent for a specific good lessens as the rate of personal income is raised. Poll taxes (also called head taxes), nominated as a flat amount per capita, patently are regressive.</p>
<p>It is not easy to dictate corporate income taxes and taxes on business as progressive, regressive, or proportionate, principally due to uncertainty about the ability of businesses to shift their tax expenses (see below Shifting and incidence). This difficulty of dictating who bears the tax burden rests fundamentally on whether a national or a subnational (that is, provincial or state) tax is being determined.</p>
<p>In analysing the economic effects of taxation, it is relevant to differentiate between various ideas of tax rates. The statutory rates include those specified in law; generally speaking these are marginal rates, but sometimes they are mean rates. Marginal income tax rates note the fraction of incremental income taken by taxation when income rises by one dollar. Ergo, if tax burden grows by 45 cents when income rises by one dollar, the marginal tax rate is 45 percent. Income tax regulations commonly contain graduated marginal rates—i.e., rates that increase as income rises. Heavy analysis of marginal tax rates need to take into account provisions in addition to the formal statutory rate structure. If, for example, a particular tax credit (reduction in tax) declines by 20 cents for each one-dollar increase in income, the marginal rate is 20 percentage points greater than indicated by the statutory rates. Since marginal rates display how after-tax income increases or decreases in response to changes in before-tax income, they are the relevant ones for appraising incentive effects of taxation. It is even more difficult to understand the marginal effective tax rate applied to income from business and capital, because it may be reliant on factors including the structure of depreciation allowances, the deductibility of interest, and the provisions for inflation adjustment. A basic economic theorem determines that the marginal effective tax rate in income from capital is nil under a consumption-based tax.</p>
<p>Average income tax rates show the percentage of total income that is required in taxation. The pattern of average rates is the one that is relevant for considering the distributional equity of taxation. Under a progressive income tax the average income tax rate increases with income. Average income tax rates usually rise with income, both because personal allowances are permitted for the taxpayer and dependents and because marginal tax rates are graduated; on the other hand, preferential treatment of income received fundamentally by high-income households may dampen these effects, producing regressivity, as shown by average tax rates that decrease as income rises.</p>
